About the BDVSA


Who We Are

The Braintree District Voluntary Support Agency (BDVSA) was formed at the instigation of the voluntary sector to support the voluntary organisations working in the district.


BDVSA Aims

  • To co-ordinate, support, promote and develop the work of the voluntary sector
  • To provide the representative views of the voluntary sector into the appropriate decision making forums

This is achieved by

Support

Providing services and resources including:-

  • Resource base for voluntary use
  • Funding advice
  • Volunteer recruitment
  • Database of voluntary services
  • Training advice
  • Advice on charity management and best practice

DEVELOPMENT

Working with local voluntary/community groups to build their capacity to meet the unmet needs of the community.


LIAISON

Facilitating effective communication that reflects the diversity of local voluntary and community action

REPRESENTATION

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Ensuring the voluntary and community sector play an active part in the development of strategic partnerships 2 examples are the Braintree District Local Compact and the Braintree Local Strategic partnership.LSP, (formerly known as PACT)
