BDVSA holds a stakeholder database of voluntary, community and statutory groups that benefit the Braintree District. There is no charge to become a stakeholder.
The information is used by BDVSA to mail out our Newsletter and update your organisation on information received by us that may be of interest to you.
BDVSA often receives enquiries regarding services in the Braintree District and with your permission passes out this information to parties who may be helped by your organisation.
To become a stakeholder of BDVSA please complete a Stakeholder Organisation Form and return it by post to BDVSA or email gwen@bdvsa.org
Why we have changed from members to stakeholders.
BDVSA became a company this year BDVSA Ltd which puts us on a much better footing in relation to accountabilities for the organisation and in relation to the volume and range of activities for the future.
BDVSA Ltd remains a charity and we want to make sure we lose none of the positive advantages of the old organisation. We believe that the most important of these is our ability to support and to represent the voices of the third sector in this area. We cannot fulfil this role without continuing to involve you all. In the past, we have done this through local organisations being members of BDVSA. Now as a company, the term “Member” is required to mean an actual Director of the Board. Since the formation of BDVSA Ltd the Board of Directors has been made up of the Executive Committee/Board of Trustees appointed or reappointed at the last AGM.
Now that the previous “members” are no longer formal “Members” of the Company, we are establishing a Stakeholder group which we believe will enable colleagues in partner organisations to continue to contribute strategically to the direction of BDVSA Ltd and to have a say in how it plans and delivers its services.
There will be an annual Stakeholder forum held alongside the Annual General Meeting. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to nominate directors for election to the Board and influence the setting of the business plan whilst holding the company to account through a review of the organisation’s performance.
We fully intend to ensure we do everything we can to retain and build on the enormous support we have from our previous membership and if you have ideas and thoughts about how we can improve the way we involve organisations and individuals, please get in touch with Judy Cuddeford.
